Measure rainwater at a glance

Measure and monitor your stored water with two convenient gauges. Use the indoor digital gauge to check your water levels from the comfort of your home or venture outside to check the traditional, easy-read dial face installed on your tank.

Take control of your water use

The Wireless Tank Gauge empowers you to take full control of your water use by measuring how much rainwater you have, how much you collect and how much you consume. Armed with this information, you may even find you can increase your water consumption without risking unexpected shortfalls.

Set up with ease

The Wireless Tank Gauge can be easily installed on aboveground and belowground vented tanks up to 3 metres / 118 inches in height. The gauge’s solid float system is secured by the analogue dial face, which is sealed directly to the tank. You can then place the digital gauge in a convenient location up to 100 metres from the transmitter.

Monitoring Gauges clearly display your water levels and/or water usage to help you Monitor and Maintain your rainwater storage.

Understanding your usage and needs can help you to Plan for Volume appropriately.

  • Installation
    1. Select an installation point on top of your tank for the tank-top gauge transmitter. Ideally, this should be a flat area that will allow you to view the gauge face easily. Mark your chosen installation point.
    2. Use a power drill fitted with a 35mm (1.4″) spade bit or hole saw to create a 35mm (1.4″) hole in your tank at the marked location.
    3. Carefully remove the front clear cover and rear cover from your tank-top gauge transmitter with the edge of a flathead screwdriver or 5 cent piece (nickel) to enable access to the moveable empty and full indicators and the rear digital display screen and buttons.
    4. Remove the battery cover from your receiver, insert 2 AAA batteries and replace the cover. An antenna icon and dashes should now be flashing on the digital display screen.
    5. Remove the battery cover on your tank-top gauge transmitter, insert 2 AAA batteries and replace the cover. The rear digital display screen should now light up and an antenna icon should flash once, indicating a signal has been sent to your receiver. The default display should alternate between “100%” and “3,000 L” (3,000 litres).
    6. Wait 3 minutes for your tank-top gauge transmitter and receiver to automatically finish synchronising. Do not press any buttons or move the float during this time.
    7. Pres the “set” button twice on your tank-top gauge transmitter to navigate to the volume menu (“3,000 L” should be showing on the LCD screen). Hold the “set” button for four seconds to enter the volume setting mode. All text on the LCD screen should be flashing.
    8. Adjust the volume value using the “+” and “-” buttons to match your own tank’s maximum volume. Holding down the “+” or “-” buttons will increase the rate at which the volume changes. Press “set” once to confirm. If you cannot program the exact volume of your tank, input the volume to the nearest 500 litres.
    9. Press the “set” button three times on your tank-top gauge transmitter to navigate to the height menu. Hold the “set” button for four seconds to enter the height setting mode. All text on the digital display screen should be flashing, with the word “FULL” flashing in the left hand corner.
    10. Note: Steps 11-16 are more easily accomplished with two people working together.
    11. Have one person hold the base of your tank-top gauge transmitter at the height of the previously drilled installation hole and have the other person slowly lower the float, no faster than 10cm (4″) per second until the top of the float is level with the bottom of your tank overflow outlet. Press “set” once to confirm full height. If your overflow outlet is not near the installation site, measure down from a known common point on the tank and use this measurement to set the float as described.
(CAUTION: If you move the float faster than 10cm per second you may incur inaccuracies in readings.)
    12. Move the green “full” dial/indicator to where the black water level dial/indicator is pointing.
    13. The digital display screen on your tank-top gauge transmitter should now be flashing the word “EMPTY”.
    14. While one person continues to hold the base of your tank-top gauge transmitter at the height of the previously drilled installation hole, have the other person slowly lower the float, no faster than 10cm (4″) per second, until the top of the float is level with the bottom of your tank pump outlet. Press “set” once to confirm empty height.
(CAUTION: If you move the float faster than 10cm per second you may incur inaccuracies in readings.)
    15. Move the red “empty” dial/indicator to where the black water level dial/indicator is pointing.
    16. Slowly retract the string and float to 90% level. Pinch the string with your finger against your tank-top gauge transmitter body to prevent the string retracting any further.
    17. Bring your tank-top gauge transmitter and float up to the installation hole and slowly lower the float through the installation hole until it rests in the water. Position your tank-top transmitter body in and over the installation hole.
    18. Hold the “+” button on your receiver for four seconds. The antenna icon should be flashing and the screen should be displaying dashes.
    19. Press the “+” on your tank-top gauge transmitter to manually transmit a signal to your receiver. Confirm the signal was received by ensuring the information is the same on both digital display screens.
    20. Replace the front clear cover and rear cover on your tank-top gauge transmitter and position it so that the “full” and “empty” indicators are clearly visible from the ground.
    21. Using the supplied screws, secure your tank-top gauge transmitter to the top of your tank.
    22. Place your receiver indoors in a dry area free of dirt and dust, for example, on your refrigerator. Remember, your Tank Gauge Wireless has a clear sight signal range of 100m. Obstacles placed between the transmitter and receiver will reduce this range.
